City Of Tiny Lights Poster Has Been Revealed By Billie Piper

The new film, City of Tiny Lights, is the film we’re all waiting to see. It boasts a popular cast; was previously shown at film festivals; and has a trailer we can’t stop watching. Now, the official poster has been released by Billie Piper.

The poster sees Riz Ahmed and Billie Piper, who plays main characters Tommy Akhtar and Shelley respectively, in front of a land of tiny blurred lights. It also reveals the slogan of the film, which is: “Some secrets should remain buried”. The poster was first released on Billie Piper’s Facebook page, before being posted on her Twitter account.

The film is based on the novel of the same name, written by Patrick Neate. He is also the writer of the screenplay for this film; this isn’t the first time he’s turned a novel into a screenplay, he previously wrote The Tesseract‘s screenplay. It is directed by Pete Travis, who is known for Vantage Point and Dredd.

The film is a crime-thriller, that is set in West London. A case of a missing teen turns into a full blown investigation by a London detective called Tommy Akhtar. He’ll have to go into his own past to work through this missing person case, including intimate betrayals and an ex-girlfriend.

It had a world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in the Special Presentations section, and it had a UK premier at the London Film Festival.

The film boasts an established cast. Apart from Riz Ahmed (Rogue One, The Nightcrawler, Four Lions) and Billie Piper (Doctor Who, Penny Dreadful, Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, Yerma); the film also stars James Floyd (My Brother The Devil, The Good Karma Hospital), Cush Jumbo (Torchwood, The Good Wife, Josephine and I), Roshan Seth (Gandhi, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indian Summers), Hannah Rae (Broadchurch), and Danny Webb (Humans, Alien 3, Scott & Bailey).

It is set to be released in the UK on 7 April 2017. So be prepared to book your cinema tickets to see this British crime thriller. It’s one you don’t want to miss.
